Flexibox - energy-efficient Free Cooling for Telecom
Our Flexibox line is designed for Radio Base Stations in shelters and rooms, also known as Cellular Sites. This 4th generation of Free Cooling is developed in close cooperation with our customers, using our experience from many years of working with Free Cooling and adding the latest flexibility demands from our customers.
Our Flexibox lives up to our quality demands for both durability and sustainability. All of our Free Cooling products operate with overpressure and deliver fine filtered air into the room. The filtered overpressure ensures a clean environment in the room for the radio transmission equipment and a longer service life of the free cooling fan.
Energy optimization
Even Free Cooling solutions differ in energy consumption; all of our products are designed with energy optimization in mind, thus considering new energy-efficient regulations. The highly efficient prize awarded EC fans from EBM Papst, in combination with our well-proven optimized control algorithms, ensure the most energy-efficient Free Cooling in the market.
Our controllers are upgraded with new algorithms. This ensures a minimum of energy consumption when cooling down the shelter or room. The new versions are TKS 3000 A, TKS 3000 A EC and ACUE 3000. The optimization is in the control algorithm that regulates towards the desired room temperature and works like a car with automatic transmission and speed control - nothing like the former step-regulated fan controllers. The new algorithm uses the optimal amount of energy to maintain fan speed and thus also the indoor temperature we set out for. Even the user interface has been improved with clear text menus on the new LCD-display.
Flexibox 350, 400 and 450
Flexibox 400 and 450
The Flexibox 400 and Flexibox 450 provide you with the flexibility of various mounting options in your cellular shelter sites. The Flexibox series is designed to match customer demands, among others the option to choose between bag filter and panel filter. Either a compact F5 panel filter or F6 bag filter. The unit is available for either 230V AC power or the energy efficient 48V DC solution that adapts its cooling frequency during power outage.
The cooling capacity of a Flexibox 450 suits most Telecom shelters with a heat capacity of approximately 5-7 kW - consult our data sheet on Flexibox 450 for more information.
Silencer kit
As a new feature, the Flexibox 450 is extendable with a new silencer kit for very sound sensible installations. Using this kit, you can reduce the sound pressure level significantly on both in- and outlet.
Savings compared with traditional split unit
A test site in Frankfurt, Germany, saved 85% energy compared to using a traditional split unit.
If you would still like the use active cooling for the peak ambient temperatures and combine the Flexibox with a highly efficient AC inverter split unit that can be connected to our controllers, you can save up to 79% energy equal to approximately 680 EUR* per year.
Flexibox 350
Flexibox 350 with compact filter - small and easy to install
The Flexibox 350 has a capacity of 2 kW at Δt 7°C and an air volume of 865 m³/h. The Flexibox 350 has low pressure axial fans and incorporates a F5 compact filter. It comes in both a 230V AC and a 48V DC version. Filter guard is a standard feature. The Flexibox 350 is designed for small enclosures and shelters with low cooling demands. The Flexibox 350 is small, light and easy to install, where space is limited. On the datasheet, you will find various mounting options and mounting accessories that make installation quite flexible.
Flexibox 350 with bag filter
The Flexibox 350 is even available with a bag filter. It differs from the traditional Flexibox 350 - being a tall unit - due to the bag filter, with the same capacity of 2 kW at a Δt of 7°C and an air volume of 865 m³/h.
