Counter-flow heat exchangers

Advanced production facility with a great production potential

Alu counter-flow heat exchangerDantherm Air Handling has set up a new aluminium counter-flow heat exchanger production plant at the factory in Skive. This fully automatic and unique equipment has been developed to produce high quality heat exchangers. The fully automated production insures that the quality is always kept at the same high level.

The newly developed and revolutionary alu counter-flow heat exchangers are specially designed for use in residential ventilation units. As an example they are used in Dantherm’s own residential ventilation units, which are approved by the German Passive House Institute and sold in big numbers in Denmark and other European countries.

Special features:

  • The unique core design provides the heat exchanger with a very low pressure drop
  • The sheets are rolled together making inlets and outlets stronger than other heat exchangers.
  • The cross-over leakage is the smallest possible on the market.
  • All corners and ends are casted with a newly developed environment-friendly hot melt before the casing is mounted.
  • With the tough in- and outlets, casted corners and ends together with the casing, the Dantherm heat exchanger can withstand tough handling. 
  • The unique design of the heat exchanger core provides the heat exchanger with a very large surface area and thus a high efficiency.
  • In- and outlet areas are provided with guides to improve the air distribution in the core of the heat exchanger.
  • The unique core design allows the condensate water to easily dripp off. This will assure full air contact with the sheets and lower the pressure drop.
  • Through calculations, simulation with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and a huge amount of testing, we have found the optimal plate spacing.
  • In the Dantherm heat exchanger you will find no epoxy or sealing.
  • The Dantherm alu heat exchanger is used in several residential ventilation units which are approved by the German Passive House Institute.

The Dantherm alu heat exchangers are specially designed for use in residential ventilation units. Dantherm has a range of residential ventilation units which are equipped with alu counter-flow heat exchangers and these residential ventilation units are approved by the German Passive House Institute.
